The London Skateboarding scene has been treated to something a little special this summer. In a culmination of Art, Skate-history and Music, The ‘House of Vans’ has opened its doors showcasing some Skate inspired Art and Music as well as a rather delightful looking concrete bowl.
The space is located under the Old Vic Tunnels on Station Approach, Waterloo. It seems that the new shred spot has been under construction for sometime and they have managed to design and create a pretty awesome looking half bowl which has a small vert section. It also looks to have some sweet hips, transfers and wall ride sections to get gnarly on. If I am not mistaken the skatepark can now be booked for designated skate session times throughout the day. This week there is a Thrasher retrospective opening in the ‘House of Vans’. Looking back into the archives of the iconic magazine which has been at the forefront of all Skateboarding progression over the last 30 years. The show will open on Thursday 21st August with a special opening event featuring music all evening from PWBC, Tim & Barry, Dogger and other surprise guests. The doors open on Leake Street at 8pm and don’t worry about missing out as they stay open until 3am the following morning. Get down there and check out some awesome photography, Art, music and all things Skateboarding inspired. Well worth a visit and a cheeky weekday hangover.
